Samuji ~ pre-fall 2013

I have such a love hate relationship with the internet.  On one hand it can be downright creepy... on the other hand, it can connect you to friends & family who are far away.  Not to mention getting you connected with talented people and amazing inspiration out there.

For those who know me, I am a bit of a Pinterest fiend.  One of my all time favourites is Beth | {local milk}. (Read her wonderful blog here).  Today, I came across one of her pins that made me do more research.

And so I discovered one creative & beautiful Finnish line Samuji.

Samuji is a creative studio based in the old Vallila district in Helsinki, Finland.

Their clothing line, like their artistic projects, hold true to their founding principles:  simple functionality, a love of necessary things, and kindness.  They create sustainable design and staples that last in your wardrobe in style and quality.

They divide their lines into Samuji Classic and Samuji Seasonal. Samuji Classic is more classic and timeless.  Samuji Seasonal is more bohemian and adhere more to colour and trend direction.

These lovelies are from all different seasons.  The first that caught my eye is the Pre-Fall 2013.  I love the simple lines, the texture and beautiful colours made from handcrafted Japanese yarns.  Other beauties are from older collections, but equally amazing.

Hope you loved these like I did.

Three out of four of my family is sick and recovering.  I started feeling a little out of it today.  I am still crossing my fingers that I am still the lucky one out of the four.  But I'm going to drink some Emergen-C and hang out with the monkeys before bed.  Then, I shall spend some quality time catching up with Downton Abbey and fall asleep.  Our schedules are so insane that when there is a little bit down time, I cherish it.

Good night!

Nylon Mexico’s January Issue

Short and sweet post today.  The husband has hot pot (see this post if you are unfamiliar) waiting for me and some friends.  I am salivating over my keyboard and it is not attractive...

free people ~ january catalogue

Recently, I met up in person with a local artist.  She and I have already bonded online over our Pinterest and Instagram.  It was one of those rare occasions that we were instantly connected over so many common loves.  Talking with her has inspired me to keep on blogging.    Sometimes it is so difficult to keep up after a long day's of work, but she has reminded me of the reason of why I started designing in the first place.  Not because it gives me a paycheck, but because it is the root of my love and creativity, and nothing should put a stop to that.  More to THAT to come...

Sometimes I feel silly posting about the simplest things, but I am digging these pictures from the Free People January Catalogue!

I'm trying to be good since I did just buy some wonderful dresses and coats from Hong Kong (more to come - I will try to do more outfit posts bit by bit again).  Otherwise I would definitely be putting some of these on the top of my shopping list!

Coveting the dresses in this order:
1.  Criss Cross Floral Dress
2.  Mexican Wedding dress
3.  Looks like an Angel Maxi dress
4.  Simply Sheer Embroidered Maxi
5.  Alicia's Maxi Slip
6.  New Romantics Future Heirloom Dress
6.  New Romantics Pantry Stripe Dress

With the location being in Amsterdamam, along with interpersing bicycles and flowers throughout the photos simply made it divine.  Best Free People Catalogue to date.

Sessùn Automne 2012-2013

While it is not glamourous, being a mother had made me very good at multitasking.  I am currently doing laundry, studying my long overdue google reader, updating my Pinterest boards, and watching Downton Abbey online.   And I must say i'm so pleased that Maggie Smith won Best Supporting TV Actress because she is simply amazing.

That is not the point of my post... but apparently rambling also is a motherly trait.  I did come across these beauties Sessùn Automne 2012-2013.  I adore the jewel tones with the wonderful collars, and how the girls' hair are styled.
